Amy Christenson

Senior Strategist

Amy Christenson equips clients to articulate their mission and impact. She develops creative strategies to place organizational spokespeople, their stories, and their advocacy initiatives and successes in front of priority audiences.

Amy spent more than 20 years as a broadcast television producer working on news, documentaries and arts programming for PBS, NBC and independent outlets. After crafting every kind of programming for every kind of outlet, she knows her way around a media story, and more importantly for her clients, knows what part of their story will attract media attention. She was awarded five Emmy Awards for her work, a Peter Lisagor Award for Exemplary Journalism and an International Film and Video Festival Award.

Previously, she developed communications strategies for clients through her own firm Christenson Gray Media Consulting, and worked in political and strategic communications, crafting messaging campaigns for a wide variety of clients including Fortune 100 mega-brands and local nonprofits.
Amy’s storytelling skills have taken her from Branson, Missouri to Bhutan.

Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Chicago’s North Park University, and she studied photography at The Art Institute of Chicago. She serves on the advisory board of her alma mater as well as the board of Bookwallah, a nonprofit that uses storybooks and reading to help children recover from trauma. Amy lives in Chicago with four dogs that never listen to her strategic messaging training.
