
Carolyn Davis crafts compelling messages and leads strategic communications campaigns that position clients at West End Strategy Team to reach their programmatic, development and advocacy goals. She works predominantly with faith-based nonprofits and advocacy organizations, leveraging more than a decade of experience supporting coalitions and developing values-based messaging.
Prior to WEST, Carolyn provided strategic communications and partnerships consulting for clients such as Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Proteus Fund, equipping their leaders with the tools to connect with faith-driven audiences in support of reproductive healthcare access and LGBTQ+ equality.
Carolyn served as a national committee co-chair for the 2020 Biden-Harris presidential campaign faith outreach program. Earlier in her career, she held senior roles in policy and strategic partnerships at the Center for American Progress, PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute) and the Center for Public Theology at Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C. She has also served as a lecturer in political advocacy for Loyola University Chicago.
Carolyn holds bachelor’s degrees in political science, Spanish and Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Divinity from Emory University and a PhD in Religion from Vanderbilt University, where she researched the impact of conservative political opposition to comprehensive sexuality education, gender justice, and anti-bullying policies. Her own writing and analysis have appeared in outlets such as The Washington Post, Newsweek, USA Today and PBS.
