Kyra Plourde

Leveraging her journalism experience, Kyra Plourde supports clients in reaching diverse priority audiences to achieve their goals.

At West End Strategy Team, Kyra works with clients countering antisemitism and identity-based hate, and pursuing social justice, including protecting reproductive freedom and expanding quality early childhood education access.

Prior to WEST, Kyra served as a journalist for the Washington Commanders and served as a campaign communications assistant for the Wallingford Democratic Committee during the 2020 Election. In addition to previously serving as an intern at WEST, Kyra also supported communications and marketing efforts as an intern at The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.

Kyra holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and strategic communications with a minor in race, gender and culture studies from American University in Washington, D.C. While in college, she served on the board of the university’s chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America.

Kyra spends her weekends supporting the Washington Spirit, D.C.’s National Women’s Soccer League team, by writing stories for game-day programs and assisting with on-the-ground communications efforts.
