Sarah Garfinkel works closely with her clients to craft messages that break through the crowded media landscape to inform and persuade key audiences. Her work is grounded by her expertise in values-rooted advocacy and passion for cultivating a more just and equitable world.
At WEST, Sarah works with clients to develop comprehensive communications campaigns for high-profile organizations and foundations and to coordinate high-visibility events. Her clients are focused on some of the most pressing issues of the day including access to reproductive health care, defending democracy and countering antisemitism.
In addition to previously serving as a senior director at WEST, Sarah was the communications director for the North Carolina Association of Educators, the largest public school staff union in the state. Earlier in her career, she also worked at the Peoria Journal Star as a general assignment reporter and as a communications coordinator for the Lupus Foundation of America.
Sarah holds a master’s degree in media and public affairs from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bradley University, located in her hometown of Peoria, Illinois.
