Strategist

Drawing on her background in humanitarian advocacy, Hannah Gavin equips clients to achieve their goals by helping them tailor their message to reach their key audiences. At West End Strategy Team, Hannah supports organizations advocating for immigrants and refugees, promoting human rights globally, and pursuing social justice.

Prior to joining WEST, Hannah worked at international organizations, including the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Food Programme. For two years, she assisted UNOCHA’s strategic communications office in conceptualizing and executing the annual World Humanitarian Day campaign, partnering with fellow UN agencies and NGOs to spotlight the stories of humanitarian workers on the frontlines of crises around the globe. Building off her experience working in the UN system, Hannah coordinated international school meal programs at the World Food Programme, managing a portfolio of projects under its partnership with USDA amounting to over $105 million in total award value. She also was a field organizer on a number of Democratic campaigns.

Hannah holds both a Master of Public Policy and a bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia. An adaptation of her master’s thesis on refugee mental health care in Virginia was published in The Washington Post
