Eight years ago, I started West End Strategy Team with a goal to craft the message and strategy to secure great clips and to use those media hits to partner with our clients to drive meaningful change.
Since then, we’ve partnered with our clients to reduce gun violence, fight racism and bigotry, support immigrants and refugees, hold corporations responsible for not respecting human rights, expand voting rights, promote policies that strengthen the social safety net, and shape U.S. diplomacy and foreign policy.
Together, we’ve launched new reports, programs and initiatives that change the conversation about critical issues facing our country. Our team is proud to work closely alongside individuals and organizations as together we have navigated challenging moments, intense media attention, and the consequences of the pandemic.
As we celebrate our 8th birthday, we’re growing. WEST is now a team of 29 persistent, committed colleagues who share your passion and values, and who draw on expertise from past experience in media, government, political campaigns, nonprofits and agencies. (And we’re still growing!)
I’m pleased to announce that Ari Geller will be WEST’s first managing partner and that Meredith MacKenzie de Silva, Samantha Kupferman and Shannon Craig Straw will be our first partners.
They are joined on our Leadership Team by our newest vice presidents, Jessica Sarstedt and Drew Courtney, and our first-ever Vice President of Talent and Equity, Shayla Thurlow.
They are joined on our Leadership Team by our newest As we reflect on the successes of the past eight years and look to the future, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Through it all, we’ve never lost sight of the fact that our work together often impacts the lives of people across the country and around the world.
